How it works
From your first call to the last hearing
The same walk-through as Rosalind’s video, as a page you can read on the bus.
- 01
Step 1: You call, text or fill in the form
The front desk asks about your household and your case, and runs a conflict check. Nothing confidential yet.
- 02
Step 2: We tell you if we can help
If we can’t, we give you the name of someone who can. If we can, we book a first visit.
- 03
Step 3: Your first visit
An hour with your lawyer. Bring your folder: any orders, court papers, pay stubs and your work schedule.
- 04
Step 4: A written agreement
What we’ll do, what we won’t, and any sliding fee, in writing before we start.
- 05
Step 5: We work the case together
Filings, mediation and hearings. You get a text before every date, and a plain summary after.
Three things we can’t do
Take both sides
We can’t advise you and the other parent, even if you agree on everything.
Promise a result
Judges decide. We tell you what’s likely and why, and we prepare you for the rest.
Handle cases outside family court
Criminal charges, evictions and benefits go to the partners we refer to.
Step one is a text or a short form
It starts with a short form or a call to the front desk.
